Albert Thembinkosi Modi is the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the College of Agriculture, Engineering and Science at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. He is also Professor of Crop Science. His primary goal is to establish a research group working on indigenous/traditional crops with a focus on seed science and technology, crop physiology, agronomy and sustainable agriculture. He has supervised more than 50 Master’s and PhD students since 2000, and his outreach activities allow him to efficiently contribute to public understanding of science and technology.
