Kirsty Naicker joined the SHEF’s team as a Master’s intern in 2018. She is based at the environmental science department at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, working under the supervision of Dr Suveshnee Munien and Professor Onisimo Mutanga. Naicker has a keen interest in multidisciplinary research, and her MSc thesis aims to integrate research methodology related to human and physical geography to assess the socio-economic, environmental and spatial factors that impact food systems and pathways within select areas of the Swayimane community.
