Anna Meyer-Weitz

Anna Meyer-Weitz is a Professor in the School of Psychology at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. She has a PhD in Health Promotion from the University of Maastricht in the Netherlands and a Master’s in Industrial Psychology from UKZN. She lectures in the Master’s programme for Health Promotion and Communication and the MPH programme. She managed the Diploma of Health and Human Behaviour in the Department of Psychology at the Open Polytechnic of New Zealand; served on a committee of the DHB to develop strategies for Community Healthy Living; and worked as a chief researcher at the Human Sciences Research Council for over 14 years. She has managed research projects across various health topics and her research experience includes the development, implementation and evaluation of different health promotion programmes within a multicultural and sustainable development context. Meyer-Weitz has published widely on health promotion-related topics, and is the author of over 90 manuscripts including journal articles, research reports, chapters in books and book reviews. She has presented at numerous national and international conferences and is a member of the editorial board of the <i>Patient Education and Counselling<i> Journal.
