Sindiso Chamane

Sindiso Chamane has been a lecturer and researcher in Grassland and Rangeland Ecology in the School of Life Sciences at the University of KwaZulu-Natal since 2012. Her research interests include grassland vegetation and herbivore/fire interactions within grassland and savanna ecosystems, with the focus on understanding the mechanisms of system function and applying this knowledge to the management of conservation, agricultural and communal systems. She is also interested in multifunctional landscapes – how to best manage rangelands sustainably for biodiversity conservation and other ecosystem services in the changing climate. She supervises Master’s and PhD students working on various aspects of rangeland ecology and management.
