Andy Haines is Professor of Environmental Change and Public Health and has a joint appointment in the Department of Public Health, Environments and Society and Department of Population Health at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). He was the Director (originally Dean) of LSHTM for nearly ten years, up to October 2010. In recent years his research focus has been on the effects of environmental change on health and the impact of policies to adapt to or mitigate these changes. His current research includes the study of the health co-benefits and economic impacts of low-carbon policies in the transport, food and agriculture and housing sectors. He sits on a number of national and international committees.
